The Don decided to do an interview with Jonathan Swan of Axios. Not sure what prompted this decision. Perhaps he had a dream that Swan was Tucker Carlson’s doppelganger? Or maybe it was The Don’s delusional nature that allows him to believe he can charm anyone and win them over? Unfortunately for The Don, Swan wasn’t buying the bull, and The Don didn’t know what hit him.
Here is an excerpt:
Swan: “I’ve gone to your rallies. I’ve talked to your people. They love you. They listen to you. They listen to every word you say. They hang on your every word,” Swan said. “And so when they hear you say, ‘everything’s under control. Don’t worry about wearing masks,’ I mean, these are people — many of them are older people.”
The Don: “Well, what’s your definition of control? I think it’s under control.”
Swan: “How? A thousand Americans are dying a day.”
The Don: “They are dying. That’s true. And you — it is what it is. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t doing everything we can. It’s under control as much as you can control it.”
“It is what it is.”
“It is what it is.”
“It is what it is.”
Shit just happens.
People die.
Just one of those things. “It is what it is.”
We know the man has no empathy. But “it is what it is?” Do you feel the chill running up your spine? He speaks of the impact of the pandemic like it was an untoward golf shot. But the master of the mulligan has never hit a shot that he couldn’t do over; not so much for those who have died of the virus. No do-over for them.
“What it is,” is the devastating loss of more than 160,000 people. Cherished people, many dying alone, having their last moments with family on Zoom. To end the session, click here.
“What it i,” is a dereliction of duty by a president the likes of which this country has never seen.
“What it is” is an economy cratering.
“What it is” is people waiting in lines for hours to be tested, and then waiting for 10 days to get the results, which renders the test meaningless.
“What it is” is people waiting in lines for hours to get food.
“What it is” is people being evicted from their homes.
“What it is” is the U.S. being the embarrassment of the world.
“What it is” is the exposure of the lie of American exceptionalism.
“What it is” is a man whose deregulation of environmental policy is killing more people. Here is The Diabolical Don waxing poetically about America’s beauty.
“When young Americans experience the breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon, when their eyes widen in amazement as Old Faithful bursts into the sky, when they gaze upon Yosemite’s — Yosemite’s towering sequoias, their love of country grows stronger and they know that every American has truly a duty to preserve this wondrous inheritance.”
“What it is” is a man so ignorant that he couldn’t even pronounce Yosemite. “Gazing at Old Faithful in amazement,” where? YO-se-MIGHT, and “YO-se-min-NIGHT?”
Who doesn’t know how to pronounce Yosemite? This is a man so ignorant that he believes that “Old Faithful” is a monument to those who love him and particularly those fetching Jews, the “semites.” He probably sees a business opportunity.
What’s so amazing is that The Don’s world is so narrowly confined to himself and his properties, that it is possible that he never heard of Yosemite National park. You just don’t mess that word up. Remember Yosemite Sam. (clip of Cartoon) The Don had to watch that cartoon growing up. Well, maybe his sociopathic father wouldn’t let him. He was too busy teaching him the art of making money and denying blacks the right to live in his buildings.
Not only has The Don done more for blacks than anyone, he also has done more for the environment, too. While heralding the great beauty of national parks, he is creating beautiful- the most beautiful, policies to destroy the environment. He is proud of his achievements.
All told, the Trump administration’s environmental rollbacks (air pollution, water, pesticides, toxic substances) could significantly increase greenhouse gas emissions and lead to thousands of extra deaths from poor air quality each year, according to energy and legal analysts.
“What it is” is a heartless, venal man making jokes at his golf club, where people pay $350,000 memberships, while Americans die from his negligence and his actions.
The Don is a human virus worse than the pandemic. He could make policy to save lives but his indifference, whether it is his inhuman response to the pandemic or his heinous dismantling of environmental protections, takes lives.
Sadly, I guess “it is what it is”…until he isn’t.
