With protests erupting in all 50 states and around the world, we have finally arrived at an inflection point. Like an old Japanese monster movie (think King Kong vs Godzilla) we are now watching King Virus vs the Cancer Monster of Institutional Racism.
The Don has been itching for this fight his entire life. His daddy, a KKK sympathizer, schooled him in the dark arts of White Supremacy at an early age.
When he was old enough to work in the real estate business, he taught him the nefarious process of denying blacks access to live in their buildings. If you recall the Trumps were sued not once, but twice by the ‘Law and Order” president, Richard Nixon, for their racist policies.
He clamored for the execution of the Central Park Five in the 90’s, who were innocent.
Then we had “Bither”-ism, his despicable and racist claims that Obama was not a U.S. Citizen.
While president, his infamous Charlottesville statement, that there were “good actors on both sides,” gave a pass to Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists.
Then there were comments about Haiti and Nigeria as “shithole” countries, racist remarks about black politicians and his rants about the NFL and the “taking of a knee,” a statement protesting police brutality toward black and brown people in this country.
The Don did not create this, but he was the perfect person to inherit what the Republican party has sown since the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act were passed in the mid-sixties: The Republicans grew the petri dish of white grievance and The Don is just the most virulent virus to inherent its dark chambers. He was born for this role.
A man so virulent, imbecilic, and delusional (a dangerous brew) that he declared after George Floyd’s funeral that he had done more for blacks than anyone with “the possible exception of Lincoln.” God it must have smarted for him to suggest that maybe, just maybe, maybe, maybe, Lincoln may have a leg up on him. I wonder who forced him to hedge his bets?
Ivanka: Daddy, you really must give a shout out to Abe.
Jarod: Abe really didn’t want to free the slaves at first, so you are so much better toward the blacks. You don’t want the blacks to be slaves, right?
Melania: You are gross. I would rather have sex with the Lincoln memorial then come 6 feet near you. Social distancing is the best thing that has happened to me.
Barron: Sorry dad, but you are no Abe Lincoln.
After George Floyd’s funeral, the clueless wonder thought to say: “Hopefully, George is looking down right now and saying, ‘This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.”
Do you know what this great thing is that he is referring to?
- Unemployment went down?
- Another black man dead.
- The Don got to show his prowess by clearing the peaceful protesters so he could hold up the bible?
- Law and Order reigns supreme.
That’s right ole George, just taking one for team America! How ya doing up there, George? What, you prefer to be down here and not dead? What do you think of the president’s words?
GET YOUR MOTHER FUCKING KNEE OFF OF OUR THROATS!
Here is what bishop Mariann E. Budde said about The Don’s bombastic photo op at the church:
“He did not pray. He did not mention George Floyd, he did not mention the agony of people who have been subjected to this kind of horrific expression of racism and white supremacy for hundreds of years. We need a president who can unify and heal. He has done the opposite of that, and we are left to pick up the pieces.”
I would add that he held the bible up like someone holding a poop bag with freshly deposited excrement. He has never read one word of it, like he has never read one word of the constitution. His shout out to his faithful Evangelicals was blasphemy as he held the bible upside down, (this is true!). If the devil wanted to give the signal that he was doing his work, that would be a clever way of winking to the audience.
In a scathing statement also published in The Atlantic, former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis wrote: “When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the constitutional rights of their fellow citizens — much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander in chief, with military leadership standing alongside.”
The dictator wannabee gave orders to dominate the protesters by calling in the U.S. military to protect him. Listen to what he said back in the 90’s regarding the Chinese military response to peaceful protesters in Tiananmen Square:
“When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength.”
It was right in his wheelhouse to crow that “It’s a beautiful thing to watch,” regarding the violent National Guard crackdown in Minneapolis.
A more beautiful thing to see is you fleeing to your bunker. For the first time, I am in support of building your wall, the one around the White House. No amount of bluster and military might will hide the fact that you are a coward and disgrace. It’s time for you to hunker down in your bunker and take a knee. It is time for you to disappear, for the oxygen to be taken out of your bluster, for the righteous and just to put their collective knees on your throat until you know what it’s like to feel that you can’t breathe.
D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser told The Don to take a knee when she had the words “Black Lives Matter” painted in yellow in front of the White House and St. John’s. She tweeted that she was renaming the area “Black Lives Matter Plaza.”
